Delivery Zones & Timelines

Zone 1 — Nairobi CBD

1–2 Business Days

Covers the Central Business District, Industrial Area, and Westlands. Same-day delivery available for orders placed before 10:00 AM EAT (subject to stock). Delivery by our own fleet or a designated courier partner.

Zone 2 — Greater Nairobi

2–3 Business Days

Includes Kiambu, Machakos, Kajiado, Thika, Ruiru, Athi River, Limuru, and all suburbs within a 60 km radius of Nairobi CBD. Delivered via vetted last-mile courier with real-time tracking.

Zone 3 — Upcountry Kenya

3–5 Business Days

All other Kenyan counties including Mombasa, Kisumu, Nakuru, Eldoret, Nyeri, Garissa, Kisii, Meru, and more. Dispatched via G4S, Wells Fargo, or approved regional carrier. Real-time tracking provided.

Zone 4 — Kenya Cross-Border

7–14 Business Days

Eastern and Southern Africa destinations outside Nairobi. Shipment via vetted courier or dedicated road freight, with appropriate delivery documentation and freight insurance options.

Specialist Instrument Packaging

Scientific and engineering instruments require packaging standards far beyond standard retail goods. Royal-Sceptre uses:

  • Anti-static foam inserts custom-cut to instrument dimensions for electronic test equipment
  • Double-walled corrugated outer cartons rated for the gross weight of each consignment
  • Moisture-absorbing silica gel sachets for instruments sensitive to humidity (e.g., load cells, pressure transducers)
  • Vibration-dampening suspension packaging for delicate optical and precision measurement instruments
  • Sealed tamper-evident tape with Royal-Sceptre branding for security in transit
  • Fragile and orientation labels ("This Side Up", "Handle With Care") on all sides

Customs Documentation (Cross-Border)

For all cross-border Kenya shipments, Royal-Sceptre prepares and supplies the following documentation as standard:

  • Commercial Invoice (KRA-compliant format)
  • Packing List with individual item weights and dimensions
  • Certificate of Origin (where applicable, e.g., UTEST goods from Turkey)
  • Certificate of Conformity / Test Certificate for regulated instruments
  • Import Declaration Form (IDF) guidance for Kenyan importers
  • HS (Harmonised System) tariff codes for all product categories

Freight Insurance

All orders are covered by basic carrier liability as standard. We strongly recommend full-value freight insurance for orders above KES 100,000 or for precision instruments. Insurance adds approximately 1.5–2% of the declared cargo value and provides full replacement cost coverage for loss, theft, or transit damage.

To add freight insurance to your order, select the option at checkout or request it in your purchase order. Claims must be filed within 48 hours of delivery for transit-damage incidents.

Delivery FAQs

  • Can I collect in person? Yes — click-and-collect from our Kenya office is available. Contact us to schedule a collection slot.
  • What if no one is available to receive delivery? Our courier will attempt re-delivery up to 2 times before returning the consignment to our warehouse.
  • How do I track my order? A tracking number is emailed within 24 hours of dispatch. Track directly on the carrier's website.
  • Can I change the delivery address after ordering? Yes, if the order has not yet been dispatched. Contact us immediately at sales@royalsceptre.com.
